Man charged with serious sexual assault of a teenage girl

A 54 year-old man is due before Carlisle magistrates today charged with a serious sexual assault of a teenage girl.

Police were called to an incident at Park Head in Brampton at 1am yesterday.

A girl aged 16 is being supported by specialist officers.

Cumbria police said:

"Detectives are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about this incident who has yet to come forward to do so.
