Man charged after cocaine worth £160,000 found near Carlisle
Arrest made following CSOC team investigation
Detectives from Cumberland's Community and Serious Organised Crime (CSOC) team have charged a man from Scotland following a significant drug seizure near Carlisle.
On 8th July, officers stopped a vehicle and discovered over 2kg of cocaine inside, with an estimated street value of £160,000.
Additionally, over £2,000 in cash was recovered from the vehicle.
The man, identified as 49-year-old Grant Robertson from Hillcrest, Fife, faced multiple charges last week, including possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession of criminal property, and driving whilst disqualified and without insurance.
Robertson appeared before Carlisle Magistrates Court on 9th July and has been remanded into custody.
This arrest is part of an ongoing CSOC investigation focusing on the transportation of class A drugs across the UK.
