A man has been sentenced to 20 months in jail after he admitted attempted sexual communication with a child and attempting to cause a child to watch a sexual act.

He was sentenced today (7th July) at Carlisle Crown Court.

Jonsen Lamb, who's 26-years-old, thought he was texting a 12-year-old girl.

Instead, an undercover police officer posed as the girl after an external law enforcement agency flagged up concerns about his online profile.

He made sexual suggestions, sent explicit images, asked for pictures to be sent to him and for the pair to meet up.

The officer ended the chat after two days and Lamb, who's from Seaton, was arrested.

He also breached his sex offender notification requirements by failing to keep police up to date. He'd been subject to them since 2021, for another instance where he was chatting to a decoy he thought was a child.
