A man from Aberdeen has been jailed for six years after he was found with drugs, a knife and two bats during a stop and search in Cumbria.

39-year-old Jamie Blyth, of Falkland Crescent, Aberdeen was stopped by officers on 19 February 2026 in the Penrith area.

Officers found four blocks of heroin, two weighing 1kg each and the other two weighing 0.5kg each.

A knife was found in his coat pocket, and two bats in the boot.

Blythe was sentenced for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs – heroin; two counts of possession of an offensive weapon; and one count of possession of a bladed article in a public place.
