Five arrested after man stabbed in Carlisle
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder
A total of five people have been arrested after a man was found with suspected stab wounds in Carlisle.
Emergency services were called out to an address on Edward Street at around 3.25am on Sunday 29th March.
They'd had reports that a man in his 30s had been stabbed.
He was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.
The arrests
A man in his 20s and a man in his 40s have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
A woman in her 40s and another in her 30s have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
A man in his 20 has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. He's been released on bail whilst the other four remain in custody.
Police say the arrests were made during a police operation yesterday (29th March).
Armed police were deployed.
Appeal
Officers are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area of Edward Street, Sybil Street and Lindisfarne Street on the night on Saturday March 28 or the early hours of Sunday March 29, to contact them.
They also want to hear from anyone who saw a grey Seat Arona, registration PY23 OES, in and around these areas or the London Road area.
