Suspected ordnance found in Cumbria closes Eskmeals beach
The Millom Coastguard team were called out yesterday evening
Eskmeals beach in Cumbria is closed after a suspected ordnance was found yesterday (19th February).
The Millom Coastguard Rescue Team responded to reports at around 6.25pm.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit has been made aware and an investigation is ongoing.
People are being asked to avoid the area and warning flags have been raised by the local firing range manager to protect the public.
Eskmeals beach will be closed until further notice.
