Police charge a man over a stabbing incident in Cumberland

A man suffered a stab wound to his leg in Wigton

Louie Holmes, 30, of no fixed address is to appear at North and West Cumbria Magistrates today (Feb 10) charged with section 18 – wounding with intent and possession of a sharp pointed article in a public place.

It follows an incident on 3 February where a man suffered a significant leg injury as a result of an assault, in Kirkland Road, Wigton.

The victim was taken to hospital with a stab wound to his leg. He has since been released from hospital.

A man aged 27 from Aspatria remains on police bail.
