Carlisle man charged after woman in late 70s injured during robbery

She suffered face and hand injuries

A Carlisle man's been charged after a woman in her late 70s suffered face and hand injuries in a reported robbery.

Officers were called out to Clift Street in Carlisle at around 10.30am yesterday (2nd February).

25-year-old Reece Holmes has been charged with robbery, possession of a knife in a public place, and possession of a controlled drug of Class B - cannabis.

He'll appear at Carlisle Magistrates' Court at a later date.
