Carlisle man safely comes down from roof after hours-long standoff
Police have taken the man into custody following the Warwick Square incident
A situation involving a man on a roof in Warwick Square, Carlisle, has been resolved safely after lasting several hours.
The individual descended from the rooftop around 8.20pm on 10th August and is now in police custody following his arrest.
Cumbria Police expressed gratitude to the public for their patience during the incident, which required extensive efforts to ensure safety.
Earlier in the day, road closures were implemented around Warwick Square, with emergency services responding to the standoff that unfolded.
Authorities had advised drivers to steer clear of the area, closing Warwick Square at the Warwick Road end, as police coordinated with partners to manage the situation.
