A collision at a filling station near Witherslack resulted in a fire and led to the closure of the A590 between Meathop and Millside overnight.

The crash occurred at 7.12pm on 25th August, prompting an emergency response from police.

The incident led to one man being taken to hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.

Emergency services worked to contain the situation, requiring a full closure of the A590 overnight as a precaution.

Currently, one eastbound lane remains closed as authorities manage the aftermath.

Drivers are advised to follow traffic updates and plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays.
