Woman rushed to hospital after being hit by van in Nuneaton

A woman has been taken to hospital after being knocked down by a van in Nuneaton.

It happened on Plough Hill Road yesterday evening - we're told the woman in her 20's has suffered facial injuries.

A 51 year old man who's from Coventry has been questioned on suspicion of drink and drug driving - and has since been bailed.

Warwickshire Police said: "We were called to Plough Hill Road in Nuneaton shortly before 7.30pm yesterday (Wednesday) following a report of a collision.

"The driver of a Ford van is understood to have been in collision with a pedestrian – a woman in her 20s. She was taken to hospital with facial injuries that are not life-threatening.

"A 51-year-old man from Coventry was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink/drugs. He was bailed until July pending further enquiries."
