Whitestone Surgery closure set for April after tribunal decision
Patients advised to re-register with alternative GP practices in Nuneaton
Whitestone Surgery in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, is set to close on 24th April 2026 following a tribunal process with the Care Quality Commission.
NHS Coventry & Warwickshire Integrated Care Board (CW ICB) confirmed the decision. This follows the tribunal regarding the previous contract holder of the surgery.
Patients registered at Whitestone Surgery are required to find a new GP practice.
Nearby surgeries are accepting new patients, depending on their location.
CW ICB's website offers a map for new registrations and guidance, especially for those needing regular medication.
Medical records will transfer automatically when patients choose a new GP.
Patients can register digitally through the NHS website or the NHS App.
Those who cannot register online will get support at Whitestone Surgery from 9th March to 30th March 2026.
A list of GP practices, including those outside Warwickshire, is available at nhs.uk.
Patients receiving hospital treatment should update their hospital departments of their new GP practice choice.
Appointments at Whitestone Surgery will continue until its closure, and new appointments can still be arranged by calling 02476 641911.
CW ICB assures that all patients will have GP access after 23rd April 2026.
Unregistered patients by this date will be automatically assigned to a nearby GP practice.
Communications may continue for some patients already registered elsewhere due to registration delays.
No further action is needed if this occurs.
The ICB will keep updating as the closure nears, with further information available on their website.
