Warwickshire Police crack-down on drink driving this New Year’s Eve
Warwickshire Police are stepping up patrols and checkpoints this New Year’s Eve
Warwickshire Police are stepping up patrols and checkpoints this New Year’s Eve to target drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Every driver involved in a collision will be required to take a roadside breath test or drug wipe, and officers are using intelligence to focus on known hotspots.
Inspector Wayne Boulton said: “Enforcement is vital, but our priority is education – we want drivers to make the right choice and keep everyone safe.”
The force is urging the public to report suspected offenders by calling 101, or 999 in an emergency, with anonymous tips accepted via Crimestoppers.
Police are reminding drivers that there is no excuse for drink or drug driving, and doing so risks licences, future freedom, and lives on the roads.
