Two arrests after stolen car driven dangerously around Nuneaton and Bedworth
A nineteen-year-old man and a twenty-year-old man are in custody
Two men have been arrested after a stolen car was driven dangerously in Nuneaton and Bedworth in the early hours of this morning (15 September).
Officers spotted the driver of a Ford Focus acting suspiciously on Coventry Road in Nuneaton at around 2:30am this morning.
Police say subsequent checks confirmed the car had been stolen previously.
The driver of the Ford failed to stop for officers and continued to drive dangerously through several areas of Nuneaton and Bedworth including the A444 - which police say posed a significant risk to other road users.
Warwickshire Police say the car was then driven the wrong way onto the exit slip of the M6 before the driver and a passenger tried to run away.
Shortly afterwards, officers located and arrested a 19-year-old man of no fixed abode on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and dangerous driving.
A 20-year-old man from Birmingham was also arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
They remain in police custody while enquiries continue.
