The family of a pedestrian who died in a collision in Kenilworth on Sunday (November 3) has described him as "the most amazing father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend."

Jake Powell, also known as Jacob, died in hospital after the collision on Leamington Road at around 8.20pm.

In a statement his family said :

“Jake was the most amazing father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He lived his life putting others before himself always and intentionally loving everyone he met and knew.

“He had energy abounding and used it to bring joy and fun to all around him. He loved his running and used it as a platform to raise awareness and money for the CLAPA charity in honour of his youngest son. It was a passion he had, to use the love he had for this sport to do good.

“To begin to even try to comprehend a life with Jake no longer with us is near impossible, and we will all miss him more than words can describe. We take what comfort we can in the knowledge he is now at peace with his Heavenly Father in Heaven.”

39 year old man has been charged in connection with the collision.

David Ball, of Watling Road, Kenilworth, has been charged with driving a motor vehicle whilst over the prescribed alcohol limit.

He will appear at Warwickshire Magistrates’ Court on 19 November 2025.
