Amelia Cook, 21, from Stratford-upon-Avon, has made her debut at the world-famous Moulin Rouge in Paris. She trained at Elmhurst Ballet School in Birmingham and danced with Barcelona Ballet in Spain before successfully auditioning for the Paris troupe.

Reflecting on the audition, Amelia said: “I was nervous in the days leading up to the audition as this was my ultimate dream job, but on the day I was surprisingly relaxed!

"Everyone auditioning was super nice and supportive of each other. It was honestly the most fun I’ve ever had at an audition.”

Amelia performed on stage for the first time on November 3, 2025, after a month of intensive rehearsals.

Speaking about her favourite moment, Amelia said: “The red feathers and jewels are so emblematic of the Moulin Rouge, and the arm movements have a beautiful balletic quality that I love.

"It’s the number that, whenever I perform it, makes me think: wow—I’m truly a dancer at the Moulin Rouge.”

Amelia now performs twice a night, six days a week, alongside 60 other artists, entertaining audiences from around the world.
