Police make fourth arrest in connection with man's death in Kenilworth
A 72-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion on assisting an offender.
Police have arrested a fourth person after a man died in a house in Kenilworth last week.
Police, along with paramedics, attended the house on Chestnut Avenue just before midnight on Friday after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man.
The man, who was in his 40s, died shortly afterwards. His next of kin has been informed.
A 24-year-old man, a 49-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of murder. On Sunday evening, officers arrested a fourth person, a 72-year-old woman, on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Detective Chief Inspector Collette Okeefe said: “While I know this will cause shock in the local community, I’d like to reassure them there remains no risk to the wider public and we believe the incident was contained to the house."
“We’ve arrested four people in connection with the man’s death, and we’re continuing to question them as we try to work out exactly what happened."
“We’ll have officers in the area – carrying out further enquiries and providing reassurance - over the coming days, so if you have any questions, please speak to them."
“Equally, if you’ve got any information that could help our ongoing investigation and you haven’t already come forward, please tell us.”
