Police launch investigation following serious collision in Coventry

Police in Coventry investigating the circumstances of a serious collision after a man was hospitalised with a head injury

Coventry Police say they were called to Broad Lane shortly after 2.30pm yesterday, after reports of an incident involving a car and an off-road bike.

Officers attended and a man in his 40s was taken to hospital with a serious head injury.

Police say they are now carrying out further enquiries, and are looking to speak to anyone who was driving in the area at the time of the collision, as well as immediately before and after.

Officers are speaking to witnesses and gathering CCTV footage from the surrounding area to look to establish the exact circumstances of what happened.

It is believed the man injured was the passenger on an off-road bike, who was injured when he came off and hit a car.

Enquiries are ongoing to find the bike and its rider.
