Police arrest man with £3,000-worth of suspected cocaine in Coventry

Coventry man arrested and suspected cocaine seized on Shirley Road

A man was arrested on Shirley Road, Coventry, after being found with more than £3,000 worth of suspected cocaine during a police operation.

Officers from the North East Priority Crime Team collaborated with SOCEX colleagues on 5th March as part of Operation Regroup, aiming to tackle criminal activity in the city.

During the operation, police stopped and searched the man on Shirley Road, discovering the suspected Class A drugs.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and has been taken into custody.

He has been bailed with strict conditions while investigations continue.

The initiative, Operation Regroup, resulted in several successful actions, including more arrests and deployments, such as the involvement of the new West Midlands Police Mounted Unit.
