Michael Ababio: fourth man charged in connection with murder
West Midlands Police have confirmed a fourth man has been charged over the murder of Michael Ababio in Coventry
A fourth man has now been charged over the murder of Michael Ababio in Coventry, West Midlands Police have confirmed this morning (11 May).
The 18-year-old died after being stabbed near Foleshill Library in February.
Now, officers say Ismail Nabeel, 18, of Coventry, has been charged with murder and attempted murder.
Three others have previously been charged with murder and attempted murder.
Mahad Mohammed, aged 19, was charged with murder and attempted murder and has been remanded in custody.
Two 17-year-old boys, who cannot be named due to their age, were also charged with murder and attempted murder and appeared at Coventry Magistrates’ Court on 22 February where they were also remanded in custody.
Nabeel has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Coventry Magistrates’ Court on 11 May.
Detective Inspector Nigel Box, leading the investigation, said: “Specially trained officers are continuing to support Michael’s family and have updated them on the latest developments and charge in the case.
“Officers investigating have continued to work tirelessly to understand exactly what took place in February and lead to Michael’s tragic death.
“We are continuing to appeal to anyone who may not have spoken to us yet and has any information that could help our case to please make a report.”
