Man dies after crash on M69 near Ansty

A man has died after a crash on the M69 this morning (February 9th) near Ansty.

Emergency Services were called to the northbound carriageway, close to the M6 junction, just before 6am after reports the driver suffered a medical emergency at the wheel.

Despite the efforts of ambulance staff the man was pronouced dead at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival crews discovered the driver of the vehicle who is believed to have suffered a medical incident at the wheel in a critical condition. Crews immediately began administering advanced life support to him at the scene.

“Despite the best efforts of ambulance staff, it became clear that nothing more could be done to save him he was confirmed deceased at the scene.”

The northbound carriageway of the M69, between the M6 and Nuneaton, is still closed while repairs are carried out.
