Investigation continuing after body of missing Warwickshire man found
A man arrested in connection with the incident has now been released
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a man believed to be 23-year-old Max Walsh, whose body was discovered in woodland near Snarestone on Saturday, 15 November.
A man arrested in connection with the incident has now been released on police bail as enquiries continue.
Max, from Warwickshire, was reported missing on Thursday afternoon (13 November) after failing to return home.
He was last seen leaving his workplace in Dordon, Warwickshire, shortly before 2pm that day.
His car was found just hours later, at around 6pm, in Snarestone, close to where the body was later located.
Although formal identification has yet to take place, officers believe the body found is Max.
"people can be concerned about coming forward"
Detective Inspector Michelle Goddard said: “We want to speak to anyone who knows where Max was in the period between him leaving work and his car being found on Thursday afternoon.
“There are extensive enquiries being carried out, but if you saw him or communicated with him in any way, we are keen to hear from you.
“We know people can be concerned about coming forward and speaking to police. I’d ask that you speak to us anyway – we need to find out what happened to Max and how he came about his death. Information you pass to us will be treated sensitively."
A post-mortem examination has been carried out but proved inconclusive.
Further testing is now underway to determine the cause of death.
Anyone who saw Max, spoke to him, or knows anything about his movements on Thursday is urged to contact police as soon as possible.
