Police have arrested four people in connection with an altercation earlier this month involving fans who attended the home football fixture between Coventry City and Sheffield Wednesday.

Officers say the arrests come after three people were assaulted near Sydnall Road, Coventry, at around 11.30am on 11 April 2026.

West Midlands Police launched an investigation and today (Monday 20 April), four people have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

A 14-year-old boy, two 16-year-old boys, and an 18-year-old man, remain in custody for questioning.

Sgt Isobel Griffiths, from our Football Unit, said: "We work closely with Coventry City Football Club and have zero tolerance for football related violence, both home and away. Our work continues with our partners to combat organised disorder, and it will not be tolerated."
