The first phase of Elizabeth Park in Leamington Spa has officially opened, creating a new public space for residents and visitors.

Located on Princes Drive, the park is being developed through a partnership between Warwick District Council and Homes England, and has been named in memory of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The first stage includes new footpaths, landscaped grassland, a sports area, wildflower meadows and tree planting.

The wider project will be delivered in three phases, with further expansion planned in the coming years.

Warwick District Council said the park will improve access to green spaces and support walking, cycling and outdoor activities across the area.

Councillor Pam Redford, Chairman of Warwick District Council commented: “We are very proud to see the opening of the first phase of Elizabeth Park.

"This exciting project will not only create a wonderful new public park but will also provide our district with a legacy in memory of Her Late Majesty the Queen.”
