Cyclist seriously injured in Coventry crash

A cyclist has been seriously injured after a crash in Coventry.

Emergency services were called to Charter Avenue at its junction with Freeburn Causeway on Friday evening.

The collision involved a cyclist and a vehicle - police are appealing for information.

In a statement, West Midlands Police said: "We are appealing for information after a cyclist was seriously injured after a collision in Coventry.

"We were called at around 5.50pm Friday evening (5 Dec) to Charter Avenue at its junction with Freeburn Causeway to a report of a collision involving a cyclist and a vehicle.

"The cyclist, a 21-year-old man was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.

"The driver remained at the scene to assist with enquiries.
