Coventry schools to receive solar power funding
Potters Green Primary and Richard Lee Primary are among 250 schools in the UK chosen for the government's scheme
Schools in Coventry are set to receive funding for new solar panels in a government scheme to cut energy bills and put money back into education.
Mary Creagh MP has welcomed the news that Great British Energy will be funding solar panels for Potters Green Primary and Richard Lee Primary School in her Coventry East constituency.
Potters Green Primary and Richard Lee Primary School are among 250 schools in the UK set to benefit from the funding.
It’s estimated that the scheme could save schools thousands on their energy bills over their lifetime, demonstrating how renewable energy can contribute to more stable energy security for local communities.
Mary Creagh MP said: “This fantastic investment by Great British Energy in both these schools. will mean less money spent on energy bills, and more resources being directed into the thing that really matters, frontline resources.
“Through Great British Energy, Labour is delivering energy security, investing in our public services and delivering lower bills for our communities.
"I was at Richard Lee Primary School just last week, and I know that this will be welcomed by their school community.”
