Coventry man jailed for stabbing neighbour in the head
Sadiq Sulemani has been convicted of attempted murder
A Coventry man's been jailed for 16 years for attempted murder - after stabbing a neighbour in the head.
Sadiq Sulemani, who was 19 at the time, attacked a man in Lower Holyhead Road in February last year.
He fled from the scene leaving the knife still embedded.
The victim suffered significant head and facial injuries, but survived the incident.
Sulemani. also of Lower Holyhead Road, handed himself in to police shortly after the attack, arrested and charged with attempted.
He was found guilty following a trial at Warwick Crown Court and has now been jailed.
PC Carly Philp, from the Major Crime Unit at West Midlands Police, said: "This was an horrific attack. There's no justification for such extreme violence and Sulemani has rightly been put behind bars for a long time."
