Coventry City's done the double at the EFL Manger and Player of the Month awards for the Championship in October.

It's in recognition of the side's efforts that see them currently sitting atop the second tier, having taken 15 points from a potential 18, and having scored 18 goals during the month.

In recognising Frank Lampard for the Championship Manager of the Month for October, judges chair Danny Wilson said, “What an impact Frank is having at the club. Sitting proudly at the top of the Championship, 15 points from a possible 18 and scoring freely with 18 goals. A fantastic team to watch as they play with a freedom their manager applauds and encourages."

On winning his award, Lampard said, "I would like to thank all the staff and all the playing squad because you can’t win the individual awards without the hard work of everybody.

"It’s been a really good month and now we need to continue the hard work going forward."

Brandon Thomas-Asante

Whilst the Championship Player of the Month for October is Brandon Thomas-Asante, who's been responsible for 6 of the Sky Blues' 18 goals, he said, "“I’m super happy to win the October Player of the Month award.

"It’s something that I’ve wanted to be doing for a while and I’m very happy with how football’s going right now.

"I’m really grateful and appreciative of the moment, playing under the manager, Joe (Edwards) and Chris (Jones) – they’ve been amazing for me in the time we’ve been working together and I’m trying to learn from them and repay the faith that they’ve put in me.

"The performances are only, in my honest opinion, thanks to the support on and off the field from my teammates and I’m really enjoying being part of this amazing squad.

"I feel like that’s been the real change and benefit that I’m enjoying playing with so many top players and people who aren’t just my teammates, they’re my friends.

"The targets I set for myself at the start of the season are high and although I’m happy I’ve met the targets other people had for me, the ones that I’ve got for myself I’m still a long way away from so there’s a lot more work to do.

"All glory to God as well because there’s been tough times but the faith that I know the lord has a plan to for me, I’m grateful that’s seen me through to moments like this."

Coventry City don't play this weekend due to the international break, they're next in action next Saturday (22nd November) when they host West Brom in the derby.
