West Midlands Police have been sharing a 'busy day of action' for their neighbourhood teams this week - adding they've been 'taking action on things that matter to you'.

A number of priority arrests and operations have been carried out by teams across the city this week, including by the Hillfields Neighbourhood Team, who arrested a man after he was found in possession of suspected Class A drugs.

WMP say in the North East of the city, officers took part in Op Regroup, a day of action against hotspot areas for crime and anti-social behaviour.

The team joined up with Immigration colleagues to visit a number of car washes in Lockhurst Lane, Stoney Stanton Road and Foleshill Road.

Most of the premises visited were checked with no issues, but one man was detained for not having a work permit.

The teams also worked with Trading Standards to visit second-hand shops in the city to discuss having the appropriate checks in place to avoid buying and selling stolen goods.

Officers also visited the retail parks in the North East to speak to business owners and customers.

A number of shops were visited where the teams discussed how to protect their businesses and property from shop thieves.

Later in the day, a traffic operation involving Neighbourhood officers and resources from the Roads Harm team checked out a number of vehicles in and around Cross Point, the Arena Park and Warwickshire Retail Park.

This was followed by high-visibility patrols in and around Henley and Longford after concerns of anti-social behaviour and dangerous e-bike riding.
