Warwickshire police have confirmed they intercepted a BMW 520d on the A444 Jimmy Hill Way near Bedworth, revealing a 64-year-old driver who has been on the road for nearly 48 years without a valid licence.

The driver first applied for his provisional driving licence in September 1978 but never took or passed a driving test.

He was driving without supervision or L plates at the time of interception, leading to a report for driving other than in accordance with a licence.

The vehicle was seized following the incident.
