Water fully restored to majority of people in Launceston after damaged main
South West Water say the damage was cause by a "third party"
Water supplies has been restored to the majority of people in Launceston after a damaged water main caused an outage.
Homes and schools were without water on Tuesday (March 3) due to the outage and South West Water began delivery water to vulnerable customers as a priority.
The company say the damage was caused to the water main in Trebartha by a "third party" and teams have worked to resolve the issue quickly and carefully.
They added that a small number of customers may still experience low pressure or a temporary loss of supply due to trapped air in the pipes.
Two bottled water stations, one at Martins Cash & Carry Site and the other at Trethorne Leisure Park, remain open today (March 4) for people to collect water.
South West Water say empty bottles can also be dropped off at these stations for recycling.
