Visit Cornwall: important summit to be held this week
The event aims to bring together those directly involved in the tourism sector after the collapse of Visit Cornwall
Businesses in Newquay and across Cornwall are being invited to a Tourism Summit at the Eden Project this week (27th January).
Organised by Cornwall Council, the event aims to bring together those directly involved in the tourism sector to shape the future of Cornwall’s visitor economy.
Running from 9:30am to 3:30pm, “Let’s Shape the Future of Cornwall’s Visitor Economy Together" will see attendees have the opportunity to influence Cornwall’s destination strategy, connect with industry leaders, and access the latest sector insights.
The event will also highlight actions to ensure Cornwall remains a visible and competitive destination for visitors, such as tackling challenges facing the sector and exploring opportunities for growth.
The event is taking place at an important moment, following the closure of the tourism board, Visit Cornwall.
The council say they are supporting businesses to create a new positive era for destination management.
Organisers said: “Cornwall has always thrived on creativity, collaboration and a strong sense of place. While the landscape is changing, the passion for Cornwall remains as strong as ever.”
The summit will include registration and refreshments from 9:30am, with the main programme running from 10am to 3pm.
Scheduled activities include discussions, collaboration, and an exploration of fresh ideas for the county's tourism sector.
For those eager to participate and help shape the future of Cornwall’s visitor economy, this summit is set to be a significant step forward.
