Unexploded ordnance removed from road in Portreath

An unexploded ordnance has been removed after being discovered on a road in Portreath this morning (February 2nd).

Police a call at 11.50am following reports of an unexploded ordnance located on Penberthy Road in Portreath.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal teams attended the site, and removing the device.

As a precaution, a 100-metre cordon was established around the area, and homes within the cordon were evacuated.

Police say the cordon began to be lifted at around 4.05pm.
