The volunteer crew of the RNLI in Looe have been presented with three powerful torches, thanking them for the "valuable work they do".

The torches are set to help crews when searching in darkness out at sea, when launching lifeboats at night, and when searching the shore line.

Making the presentation, past President of the Looe Valley Rotary Club David Bunt said: “it is my great pleasure to present the RNLI Looe with an illuminating gift and thank them for all the valuable work they do."

The club distributes donations from money raised in fundraising activities to nominated charities and good causes.

David went on to say “Alongside RNLI Looe Lifeboat Station the Rotary Club will be donating to more than 10 local causes including SW Hospice, Cornwall Air Ambulance, Shelterbox and Looe Army cadets."

The presentation, which happened on Wednesday night, was then followed by the charity's Atlantic 85 Sheila and Dennis Tongue II being launched on exercise.
