South Yorkshire father and daughter who died at Cornwall beach named

A father and daughter from Doncaster who died in the sea at a beach in Cornwall have been named ahead of the inquest opening into their deaths.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed a man in his 60s and woman in her 30s died after being pulled from the water at Fistral beach in Newquay on Sunday 26 July.

They have now been officially named by a coroner as John Peter Collins and Samantha Adele Collins, from South Yorkshire.

The inquest into their deaths is due to open at Cornwall Coroners Court tomorrow (August 4).

Police previously appealed for the public's help to find a handbag containing sentimental items which belonged to Samantha
