RSPCA Cornwall are launching their first 'hidden gem open day' today (Saturday 20th September) - in the hopes that overlooked dogs will find their forever homes.
People in Cornwall are being asked to come down to the branch and meet some of their longest staying dogs.
Leanne Bawden is from RSPCA Cornwall, and says they've decided not to label them 'long stayers', but instead gems, "A re-brand as 'hidden gems' is much more in line with what they actually are because they are beautiful dogs with amazing personalities.
"In the right house they will absolutely thrive."
Some of the 'hidden gems' are called: Bolt, Karma, Shadow, Sally, Nala and Cora.
Leanne says, "We have got ten dogs available for rehoming at the centre.
"We'd love to end the day with as many of those as possible - if not reserved - to have met people who are interested in them
"The dogs are beautiful, they just need that very specific, very special home with that one right person."
The open day is on 10am-12pm and 12pm-2pm by appointment only.
Appointments can be booked by phoning 01637 881455.
