Redruth mum celebrates £300k lottery win after quest for ideal lunch
Janice Beare's Christmas spirit sparks lucky Scratchcard purchase
A mother-of-five from Redruth, is revelling in what she describes as an early Christmas miracle after winning £300,000 on the National Lottery.
Janice Beare's festive fortune came about unexpectedly while she was on a search for the perfect Meal Deal.
The turning point occurred during a visit to her local Co-op where, inspired by a fellow shopper buying a Tinsel Trail Scratchcard, Ms Beare decided to get one for herself, drawn by the allure of Christmas.
Her spontaneous decision paid off spectacularly when she revealed the £300,000 top prize whilst sitting in her car.
Ms Beare shared her excitement about the win: "I’ve always loved Christmas... but I think I’m going to love it even more from now on," she said.
This unexpected windfall has enabled Ms Beare to assist family members, including buying her daughter a new washing machine after hers caught fire.
Her own long-held dream has also been realised by trading in her 20-year-old Vauxhall Corsa for a brand-new car, bringing ease to her mobility challenges.
Kathy Garrett from National Lottery operator Allwyn remarked, “Congratulations to Janice on this fantastic win. Christmas has definitely come early for her and her family.”
