The Duke of Cornwall’s in Cornwall this St Piran’s Day to meet the people who held the county together during Storm Goretti.

The storm affected brought winds of over 100mph at the start of the year with widespread heavy rainfall and severe damaging infrastructure.

Around 50,000 homes lost power, 15,000 were left without water, and thousands of fallen trees blocked major highways and rural routes.

During his visit he will see a pasty farm that was cut off but kept baking on a generator to feed locals, then heading to Helston Fire Station to thank crews who were out keeping people safe.
