Polzeath is addressing environmental concerns posed by broken bodyboards left on the beach over the summer.

The community has begun stripping down these discarded boards to recycle the polystyrene within.

While some bodyboards have been taken by the Cornwall Wildlife Trust for their sea grass project, others undergo recycling efforts aimed at reducing landfill waste.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to reconsider purchasing inexpensive polystyrene boards from supermarkets due to their negative environmental impact.

The initiative highlights the importance of responsible purchasing and disposal choices to protect the local marine environment.
