Plymouth woman dies in A30 crash near Exeter Airport

A woman from Plymouth has died following a single-car crash on the A30.

Emergency services were called to the westbound slip road for Exeter Airport shortly after midday yesterday.

She was a passenger in the vehicle.

The driver - a man in his 30s - has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

In a statement, Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed: "We are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a single vehicle road traffic collision on the A30 westbound slip road for Exeter Airport, at Clyst Honiton.

"Officers were called at around 12:05pm on Sunday 3 August to reports of the collision involving a Blue BMW 5 Series Saloon.

"Sadly, the passenger in the vehicle – a woman in her 30s from Plymouth – was declared deceased at the scene.

"The male driver, who is also from Plymouth and in his 30s, was taken to hospital having suffered serious injuries. Their next of kin are aware.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed.

"Anyone with any relevant information and dash-cam footage which may assist the investigation is asked contact police via our website or by calling 101 quoting log 430 of 3 August 2025."
