A rescue operation took place at the entrance to Par Beach - when a person became stuck in the mud, necessitating immediate assistance.

The St Austell Coastguard, alongside the St Austell Community Fire Station, arrived on the scene to devise a rescue strategy.

Assistance from the Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team was also enlisted, as they are specialised in mud rescues.

Together, the teams were able to extract the casualty and hand them over to the waiting ambulance team for a health evaluation.

The St Austell Coastguard emphasised the importance of making the right emergency call to ensure the appropriate rescue services were available for this scenario.

As the rescue unfolded, access to the area was temporarily restricted, prompting thanks from the Coastguard to those who patiently waited.
