No hosepipe ban planned for Cornwall
South West Water say they're not planning a ban despite 'expected increased demand'
South West Water are not planning on introducing a hosepipe ban, despite continued hot weather across Cornwall.
They are advising people across the Duchy to support them by using water wisely, such as taking shorter showers and using a watering can.
A spokesperson from SWW said: "While we are not planning to introduce a hosepipe ban this summer we are seeing a rise in demand for water as we would always expect in warmer months.
"We are continuing to work hard to manage our resources, tackle leakage and support our customers with using water wisely – simple steps like using a watering can instead of a hose, or taking shorter showers, really do to protect our most precious resource."
