Man arrested in Camborne waste investigation
The Environment Agency is investigating a site with approximately 50,000 tonnes of waste

A man has been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal waste site activities at a site near Camborne.
The Environment Agency said the site consists of approximately 50,000 tonnes of predominantly construction waste.
The operation is in collaboration with Cornwall Council, who are investigating offences at a separate site.
The man in his 20s was arrested today (5 August) for alleged environmental offences.
Tim de Winton, Area Environment Manager, said:
“Our teams have been working tirelessly in our investigation into activities at this site. This arrest is a vital step in collecting new evidence and progressing matters further.
“We will take tough action against those who flout the laws designed to protect communities and the environment.”
The Environment Agency previously took action to stop large scale deposits of waste at the Camborne site, including issuing Illegal Waste Stop Letters to the landowner, hauliers and operator.
