Looe Shedders needs new home to continue
It has to leave its current one by Easter

A volunteer-run community organisation in Looe says it urgently needs a new home, in or around the town.
Looe Shedders CIO has to leave its current borrowed workshop by next Easter. Hopes had been pinned on a potential new site, but that option is no longer viable, leaving the organisation urgently searching for an alternative.
Now the Shedders are appealing directly to landowners, farmers, businesses, property owners and the wider community.
It says it needs either a piece of land to build on, or a large building, which can be converted into a workshop.
A garage, shed, barn, workshop, agricultural building or other suitable structure could provide the answer.
Ideally, the site needs to be:
• At least 50 square metres
• Within five miles of Looe
• Accessible by vehicle
• Available at a peppercorn rent
Looe Shedders said: "It's about much more than tools and making things.
"The organisation brings people together, to share skills, make friends and enjoy the sense of purpose, which comes from doing something worthwhile.
"Its volunteer Shedders make, repair and recycle, while using their practical skills, to carry out projects benefiting schools, charities and community organisations, throughout Looe and the surrounding area.
"The Shed also provides friendship, companionship and a supportive environment, which contributes to men and women's health and wellbeing."
Chairman of Looe Shedders CIO, Chris Roy, said: “We don't just need a workshop. We need a home from which we can continue helping our community.
"We are now running out of time. Unless we can find somewhere suitable before we have to leave our present workshop, everything our volunteers have built up. The friendships, shared skills and the community projects, all are at risk.
"Somebody in or around Looe may have a piece of land, an unused barn, workshop, garage or other building, that could give Looe Shedders a future and even if they don't have somewhere themselves, they may know someone who does. That introduction could make all the difference.”
Looe Shedders is asking local people, businesses and organisations to share the appeal as widely as possible.
