Two men charged following alleged assault in Penryn

Police have charged two men after an alleged assault in Penryn on Tuesday 15 July.

Officers were called to a report of a man and woman being found injured on Lower Market Street.

40 year-old Matthew Cunningham, from Hilgrove Road in Newquay, has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, wounding with intent, and possessing a weapon in a public place.

Nikita Trembath, 32, of Permarin Road in Penryn, was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and possessing a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid/gas/electrical incapacitation.

Both men were remanded in custody and appeared at Bodmin Magistrates Court yesterday.
