Gold jewellery stolen from man at knifepoint in Marazion
Police say the victim was not injured but was shaken by the incident
Police say gold jewellery was stolen from a man at knifepoint in Marazion.
The incident occurred around 4.40pm on 10th December, when a man in his 30s was walking along the cycle path connecting Long Rock car park to Jordan’s Café.
A male on a bike approached the victim, a man in his 30s and asked for the time.
According to police, he then produced a Stanley knife and demanded the victim’s mobile phone, which was dropped and damaged.
The suspect then demanded everything else the man had and took both a chunky 4ct white gold wedding band with an inscription on the inside and a 9ct gold chain with a diamond pendant, before making off toward the café.
Police say while the victim was not injured, he was left shaken by the encounter.
Officers are investigating and trying to find the suspect who was dressed all in black - tracksuit bottoms, a hoody, and face covering.
He was riding a black mountain bike.
PC Kevin Doherty said: “This was a brazen daylight robbery and we would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen the suspect in the area to come forward.
“We are also releasing images of the stolen items in the hope that someone may have seen them or been offered them for sale. We would particularly urge owners of second hand jewellery stores or pawn shops to check for these items.
“The wedding band and chain are valuable but they also hold significant sentimental value for the victim who is desperate for their return.”
