Flights between Cornwall Airport Newquay and London Gatwick are set to take off again in the summer of 2026 following an announcement by easyJet.

The new twice-weekly service will begin on 23rd June 2026, operating every Tuesday and Saturday.

This development will enhance direct domestic travel between Newquay and London, whether for visiting the capital, catching up with friends and family, or making onward connections across Europe and beyond.

The initiative aims to support Cornwall’s visitor economy by providing easier access for those in London and the South-East to the region.

This decision comes after the announcement of the cancellation of the previously subsidised flights between Newquay and Gatwick due to a lack of compliant bids in the recent tender process.

Cllr Tim Dwelly, Cornwall Council's portfolio holder for economic regeneration and investment, expressed his enthusiasm for easyJet's decision.

"I am really pleased to see these flights announced by easyJet for the peak summer season.

"Alongside the flights already in place to London Stansted, it shows we can support a variety of routes between Cornwall and the capital.

"This is really good news for the airport, and for Cornwall as a whole," Cllr Dwelly said.

Nigel Scott, Commercial Director at Cornwall Airport Newquay, shared similar sentiments.

"We’re very pleased to welcome this new London Gatwick service with easyJet for the peak summer season.

"Demand for Cornwall continues to grow, particularly from the South-East, and this route provides an affordable and convenient way for visitors to access the region during one of our busiest periods.

"Building on the strong performance of easyJet’s Manchester route over the past two summers, this new service further strengthens our partnership.

"The Saturday service opens up new leisure connections via Gatwick, with opportunities to align with easyJet holidays, and we look forward to working together to maximise this potential," Nigel Scott said.
