Emergency Services respond to gas leak in Launceston

Emergency Services are currently at the scene of a gas leak in Launceston.

Police say a 500m cordon is in place around the Pennygillam Industrial Estate , closing the A30 in both directions.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service are managing the incident and police say properties within 200m have been evacuated.

The public within the wider cordon are being asked to stay inside and keep doors and windows shut.

There is congestion on the roads and people are being asked to stay away from the area.

Devon and Cornwall Police say the will provide further updates in due course.
