Prince William opened a new access road at Mousehole Football Club in Cornwall today (November 13).
The Duke of Cornwall, brought together a consortium of businesses to create the new access road at Mousehole Football Club in the village of Paul, which has addressed longstanding access issues to the club.
Previously, the only route to the club was a narrow, pothole-filled lane which had been a source of congestion, causing difficulty for residents of the nearby village of Paul and logistical challenges for visiting teams and supporters.
The Duke heard about the issues being faced by the local community and worked with CRH, a global leader in building materials, to see if they could help develop a lasting solution.
The new road, which was constructed over the summer at no cost to the club, was made possible through in-kind contributions from various companies specialising in construction materials, civil engineering, and roadworks.
The improved access route also includes new parking facilities, enabling the club to expand its range of sporting, social, and cultural events for the wider community.
During his visit, the Duke saw the completed road and met with the partners who contributed to the project.
He also visited the football club to speak with members of the community and players from both the youth and adult teams who were taking part in training on the pitch.
