The Ship Inn in Mevagissey awoke to discover its premises had been covered in paint, prompting a community-wide clean-up effort.

Noah and Aleks, from the pub, shared their dismay upon seeing the damage done to the pub's windows and frontage.

They expressed gratitude for the support and camaraderie shown by the villagers.

Many people showed up in the pouring rain to help clean-up the paint damage without prompting.

The couple described the community's response as a testament to the village’s spirit, saying it was more meaningful than words could express.

They are currently collaborating with the police and St Austell Brewery to investigate the incident and identify those responsible.

Despite the setback, Noah and Aleks remain determined to restore The Ship Inn and move forward.

They shared their appreciation for the encouraging messages, offers of help, and the steadfast support from the community.

“The kindness and community spirit means more to us than we can put into words,” they said.

The couple is committed to making The Ship Inn a place that Mevagissey can continue to cherish.
